Burroughs (1892)

"William Seward Burroughs was the designer of this machine, likely the most important of all the printing full-keyboard adding machines.

In 1888, the American Arithmometer Company was founded in St. Louis. They were to take care of sales, while the manufacturing of the machines was carried out by the Boyer Machine Company. Later, however, the first firm took over production as well. In 1904 the factory shifted to Detroit, and in 1905 the name was changed to the Burroughs Adding Machine Company.

This company still manufactures the machine today and has branches in Windsor (Ontario) and Nottingham (England). "
