To avoid damaging arithmometer and to get absolutely correct results it is necessary to respect the following before each use:
Turn both butterfly wings C till they click, this will cause displays to clear (set to zero).
Handle F should always make a full turn (forward and backward turn should always end in the handle position G).
One should turn handle F in a uniform manner without jerking with as steady speed as possible (150 turns per minute).
Lubricate turning parts 1-2 times per year with a drop of clean oil. You need to clean those parts first with benzene or clean the dust off with a cloth.
